Writings on the wall.
Kodavere outhouse
06/24/18 – 08/24/18
Juhan Liiv Museum, Peipsiääre Parish, Estonia
At the threshing barn of the museum, Samma has exhibited an outhouse found in the courtyard of the Kodavere Church. The messages and names on the walls of the outhouse tell stories about village history and people from the beginning of the 20th century. The toilet has therefore unexpectedly become a source of research and scrabbles on the wall have become a source of history. Choosing one of the most beloved Estonian poet's Juhan Liiv's and his brother's Jakob's home as an exhibition site is no accident. They both went to Kodavere Parish School and Juhan has written short stories in a local dialect.
